I just received an invitation for the geocachers to join in on the next
river cleanup at the Rio Salado Habitat Restoration area and I would like to
know how many would be interested in participating. If you would like to
pitch in it should be a well organized event and we will be able to get an
assignment on a section of the river just for our group. A great
opportunity to pitch in! I need to let her know an approximate number by
next week so please reply soon. Here is more info below!
The Rio Salado Habitat Restoration Area stretches along five miles of the
Salt River just south of downtown Phoenix. Once a dump site, the area is now
a lush riparian corridor with five miles of paved and dirt trails dotted
with unique design and user features.
In concert with National River CleanUp Week(r), which takes place annually
in June, Rio Salado Habitat Restoration Area will organize their 2 nd annual
river clean up March 1, 2008 - 9am to 12pm which is more suited to Arizona
weather. The local clean-up effort will span five miles of the Salt River
located in the heart of central Phoenix . This year we hope to beat the 254
bags of trash collected in 2007.
Last year we had 125 participants, this year we would like to open it to 200
people. This includes Geocachers!
