[Az-Geocaching] State Land Department Interactive Map

Just curious, but has anyone on the list ever been askdd to show their permit?  I always make sure I have mine, figuring I'll be 'lucky' enough to get caught otherwise, but have never seen anyone 'official' while on State Trust Land.

At the last 'Neocachers Network' event cache, I found out two things about
State Trust Land.
 
1.  The permit is valid for 'active' hunting and fishing.  Scouting doesn't
fit the definition...or so I was told.
 
2. There are only two State Trust Land 'police' in the entire state.  But,
other agencies can assist with enforcement.
 
 
Another thought about permits might be a group permit for the event...

That is correct. 
However, even if it's not hunting season, you might be in the area 'scouting
for an upcoming hunt' <wink, wink, nudge,nudge>, which is an acceptable
activity. You might just accidentally 'stumble across' a Geocache while out
there.

Since we've had some new folks here recently, let me mention why being able
to identify State Trust Land is important. It's important because if you're
on State Trust Land, even on foot, you need a permit. The permit is $15 a
year for individuals, $20 for families. The fine for being on State Trust
Land without a permit is $500. You can download the permit application from
